Developer Scott Cawthon recently confirmed the video game "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" for a Halloween 2015 release. He also released a teaser image that has fans running rampant to decipher what the images within it mean, along with theories and speculation of what animatronics will appear, the storyline and more.

Let's explore some of the theories regarding Cawthon's nightmarish final chapter of the point-and-click horror series.

"Five Nights at Freddy's 4" Gameplay Theories

Although we cannot derive much about "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" gameplay from the static teaser image, The Game Theorists on YouTube have uncovered some possible clues.

According to The Game Theorists, the player may be up against one large Freddy and three smaller versions that leap out of his body. Smaller foes will be much more difficult to spot on security cameras. It will increase the anxiety of players to watch the camera monitors, intensifying the jump scares.

Since this is the last "Five Nights at Freddy's" game, the theorists expect real or hallucination versions of classic animatronics like Chica, Foxy and Bonnie. It is likely Cawthon will include the series' most memorable characters in his last project.

A New "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" Animatronic

The scariest version of Freddy Fazbear gamers have ever laid eyes on appears center in Cawthon's "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" teaser image. The animatronic in the image has sharp teeth and claws, plus three small Freddy heads protruding from his stomach.

There is speculation that the new animatronic foe in the fourth installment is Fredbear's Family Diner Fredbear or Spring Freddy. Fans may recall the mini-game in "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" that featured Springtrap along with a version of Freddy beside him. Many fans think that Freddy character will be an integral part of "Five Nights at Freddy's 4."

The character is named Spring Freddy because he is built similar to Springtrap. If you take a close look at the teaser image, he has five fingers. Could this mean the suit was designed to be worn by a human, like Springtrap's? Perhaps there was another suit trapping incident like the one in "Five Nights at Freddy's 3."
