It's been a busy, but successful, year for the members of One Direction... and now, it's time for them to take a break!

According to Australia's News.com, the boys have struck a deal with their managers to not return to work until mid-March, when they will commence rehearsals for their newest tour. According to the website, the reason they struck this deal was because the boys were exhausted. "The lads are dead on their feet. They've completed a huge world tour and done endless promo in between. They approached management to work out a deal. Given their success, they could hardly disagree and understood entirely. It was all sorted on good terms," said the website. The website also reports that in 2013, One Direction played over 130 shows, which caused the once-respectable Rolling Stone magazine to quip that they "worked like dogs" (which is nothing, when you consider how many shows the Grateful Dead played every year. But... kids... you know...).

The band -- Harry Styles, 19, Zayn Malik, 20, Niall Horan, 20, Liam Payne, 20, and Louis Tomlinson, 21 -- have gone their separate ways over the holiday break to spend time with family and girlfriends (I know... GIRLFRIENDS. Pause while the screams of thousands of teenage girls are muffled by our collective je ne sais quoi...).

And according to Oh No They Didn't!, the band's 2014 Where We Are Tour, which kicks off in April, will see them tour South America for the first time, as well as North America and Europe. There are currently 65 dates planned. (A whole 65 days of work in a year... try not to strain yourselves, guys...)

Meanwhile, the band also made some history in 2013: according to Ireland's Independent Newspaper, the DVD This Is Us became the fastest selling ever in the U.K. -- with 270,000 copies sold in the first three days of its release. One Direction merchandise -- which includes life-size cut-outs, dolls, cosmetics, and pillows -- topped children's wish lists in the U.K. along with the more traditional favorite, Lego.
