Batman: Arkham Origins has been out for two months now. The open world action-adventure game is a prequel to its predecessors Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. The games stars the Bruce Wayne early on in his career as he the Caped Crusader. Batman battles traditional foes like Black Mask and the Joker. It's a really terrific game. You can glide using Batman's cape, throw batarangs or use your brute force to take down various enemies. The environment is richly detailed and the voice acting is among the best in the video game industry.

However Arkham Origins is no The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in terms of length. Most hardcore fans have already plowed through the approximately 15-hour runtime and are desperately waiting for more content. A few extras have been added to the game since its release via the Black Mask Challenge pack and the Initiation pack. Unfortunately, these packs don't add much in the way of story. Luckily another DLC pack is coming perhaps as early as Dec. 31, per an announcement by the game's Facebook Page. The DLC will add to the already intriguing storyline of Batman: Arkham Origins and provide new missions to complete.

A completely new game would be a huge surprise to many. The Arkham series has followed a two-year release cycle. The first entry in the series Batman: Arkham Asylum came out in 2009. Arkham City followed in 2011 and Arkham Origins hit store shelves in October. Much more likely is an announcement from Warner Bros. saying that they are putting the finishing touches on a spruced up, next gen version of Batman: Arkam Origins. A similar scenario happened last year when the months old Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition game was made available to the new Wii U console. It was largely the same title, but it featured slightly better controls and graphics.

The game is currently available on every major gaming platform: PC, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3. Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita, popular handheld gaming systems have a similar a Batman title of their own called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. The game is a sequel to Origins. An Xbox One and PS4 version would include a higher max resolution of 1080p and be much closer graphically to what PC gamers see.
