Miley Cyrus Teams With Legendary Rocker Joan Jett and Transgender Rocker Laura Jane Grace
Miley Cyrus has been a vocal supporter of LGBT rights and lately, following the launch of her anti-homelessness and pro-LGBT Happy Hippie Foundation, she has been making strides to promote the effort. This included a "Backyard Session" collaboration with legendary rocker Joan Jett and the transgender Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace, according to E! News.
The star trio performed a moving, feel-good song titled "Androgynous," which speaks volumes about the love felt within the transgender equality. The song also speaks out against people who demean the lifestyle.

In an article on OUT, Cyrus gave them a little insight behind her motivations for not only starting the foundation, but what it means to her.
"I've experienced fame, and money, and all that shit -- and none of it will make you as happy as when you're actually fighting for something," Cyrus told OUT.
This follows the event where she just last year sent a young man named Jesse Helt, who was a 22-year-old homeless person, to go up on stage and accept her 2014 Video of the Year award. The aspiring model took that opportunity to speak publicly about homelessness in LA, according to MTV.
Cyrus met Helt through the "My Friends Place" organization. They also spoke with MTV about the issues facing homeless youth
"All we want for these young people is to find the opportunities to step into resolving issues - to be able to take accountability and move forward with their lives," Heather Carmichael, executive director of My Friend's Place, told MTV News. "That is scary for everybody, to hold ourselves responsible for the mistakes we've made. To be able now to have the resources to maybe take this on and resolve it in partnership with whatever adult steps in, as scary as that might be for [Jesse]... I hope this an opportunity to change the stage he gets to stand on in his own life."
Cyrus' collaboration with Jett and Grace is an effort to promote awareness for the foundation's core issues. The video on their webpage even includes a donate button, for those wishing to support the venture.
