CW 'The Flash' News Update & Spoilers: New Characters to Appear in Final Episode
With the "The Flash" ending on May 19, CW is previewing its newest characters before the end of the season.
After having announced its new show "Legends of Tomorrow," CW has announced that Hawkgirl, Rip Hunter and more will make their team debut on "The Flash's" season one finale.
Among characters that will be on the show include Ray Palmer, The Atom ("Brandon Routh), Hawkgirl (Clara Renee), Rip Hunter, Black Canary (Clara Renee) Flash villain Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell).
Also making appearances are Dr. Martin Stein, who is half of the superhero Firestorm (Victor Garber) and Jay Johnston (Franz Drameh)
CW recently released the first synopsis of the episodes, which explains why there will be so many characters. The synopsis states, "When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"
"Legends of Tomorrow" won't premiere until this fall. Meanwhile once CW ends the first season of "The Flash," the network will begin work on the next season.
The current "The Flash" stars Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh, Rick Cosnett and Canidce Patton and tells the story of Barry Allen, who wakes up nine months after he was struck by lightning and discovers that the bolt gave him the power of super speed.
The show has garnered rave reviews and has seen a number of villains, including Mark Hamill's iconic portrayal of the Trickster and Arrow.
"The Flash" airs on the CW at 8pm.
