In the Season 5 finale of "Hawaii Five-O," "A Make Kaua," which aired on May 8, the Five-0 unit made great strides in guaranteeing Kono a wedding that she had been looking forward to all season.

The episode, which followed a back-to-back airing of the previous episode, started off with a hijacked plane that was originally smuggling a stolen nuclear bomb. The unit becomes aware of this, and the plane has landed in Hawaii, with the payload missing and the pilot dead, according to Entertainment Weekly.

They quickly learn that the man responsible for the hijack and the bomb was an American self-proclaimed patriot who was going to set the bomb off in an effort to revitalize the war on terror.

The action heats up when they find the bomb on a trolley heading to downtown. The team must take it 50 miles offshore to allow it to blow without the effects of the radiation hitting their people. They also barely make it out of the blast radius with only two minutes before the bomb detonated.

In other events, Danny found out that he was the biological father of Rachel's son, Charlie. Even more heartbreaking is that he is sick and needs a bone-marrow transplant, which is why she is in town to find him.

Steve also deals with the return of Catherine, who is in for Kono's wedding, further adding to the tense nature of the episode. Chin also turns down an offer for dirty money, which in turn leads Gabe to run. The wedding goes ahead and in the end, everything seems to be alright.

The reboot developer for the show, Peter Lenkov, recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and spilled a few details about what to expect next season, especially in regards to the unit's new nemesis.

"[Gabe is] definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with, and he's going to come right up, very hot out of the gate in the first episode next season," Lenkov said to The Hollywood Reporter.

He also spoke about Danny's shocking new revelation as the father to Rachel's son. But he was more poised to talk about how he will be handling his daughter's blossoming maturity.

"Danny's daughter is becoming a teenager, and how do you deal with that, and dating and all the things that come with someone moving into that stage of their life," Lenkov said.
