For fans of NBC's current lineup this year, there are a few shows that are making an exit.

"Constantine," "About a Boy" and "Marry Me" are a few to go, according to the AP. But there are also a few returning series, which includes longtime fan favorite "Law and Order: SVU."

But what's especially exciting about this season is the slate of new shows coming to the network. There are 14 to be exact, which include a few returning series that were previously cancelled.

The new bill will feature six comedies, seven dramas and a variety show, which will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. It is pleasing to see that NBC has taken a renewed interest in comedies considering how well some of their powerhouses from the past performed, such as "Friends," "Seinfeld" and "Cheers."

There was actually a time when NBC was considered the most prolific comedy network in the industry, but those days of "Must See TV" have seemed to wane away.

NBC will also be trying a daring concept with one of its sitcoms: Airing it live. This is actually an old idea that has gained renewed momentum with the network, which in the old days they loved to do in various different forms. The show "Undateable," which already aired a live episode earlier in the month, is going to give this try on a weekly basis.

But one most anticipated events coming to the network this fall are two show revivals, which are "Heroes Reborn" and "Coach." "Heroes Reborn" will feature a mostly new cast, with old characters either making cameos or running a recurring role.

"Coach" is being revived with actor Craig T. Nelson to reprise his original role from the previous nine-year series run. But this time his character takes a backseat to his son playing the lead role.

According to Variety, NBC will also feature a TV movie about Dolly Parton titled "Coat of Many Colors."
