Authorities found the remains of four victims behind a strip mall in Connecticut where a serial killer may have dumped their bodies using the location as a burial site, the Associated Press reports.

The serial killer is linked to seven deaths. The wooded area behind the strip mall may have been a dumping ground for the suspected killer.

"This is certainly the burial site," Chief James Wardwell of the New Britain Police Department said. Remains for three women were found in the same area back in 2007.

Although the name of the suspect had not been released earlier, he has now been identified by police who said he is no longer a threat to the public.

Forty-five-year-old William Devin Howell is suspected of committing the murders, according to NBC Connecticut. He is currently serving 15 years in prison for the murder of 33-year-old Nilsa Arizmendi. Her body has yet to be recovered.

A specially trained dog helped to find the newly found remains. One of the new victims is identified as Melanie Ruth Camilini. She went missing in 2003 and was the mother of two children. All three other victims have yet to be identified.

Eight years ago, a hunter discovered the remains of Diane Cusack, Joyvaline Martinez and Mary Jane Menard.

Menard's son is sad to know that there are more victims, but happy that the serial killer is off the streets.

"It's a relief to know that it's not going to happen again," he said.

Menard's sister added that she is glad that the family will soon have justice.

"Now they have some answers, but the answers that they have aren't good, either," the chief state's attorney Kevin Kane said. "And that's what I hope people pay attention to today, how sad this really is."

"We are still in the investigative phase of this. We need to identify at least three additional individuals who were found, and we're working very hard to do that," New Britain State's Attorney Brian Preleski told NBC Connecticut.

The Greater New Britain Serial Killer Task Force is investigating the deaths of the women who were found.
