"Vampire Diaries" actress Nina Dobrev has recently opened up about the wedding of her co-star and ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder to actress Nikki Reed. 

As the 26-year-old beauty moves on from her hit TV show, the actress spoke -- for the first time -- about her relationship with Somerhalder. The Bulgarian-Canadian celebrity shared that she wishes her ex-boyfriend and his new wife all the happiness in the world. 

"I've said this before, that we didn't break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn't love or friendship," Dobrev told E! News . "I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he's great and I care about him. And that didn't change. Yes, we're professional and that's fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now."

She also shot down rumors that she wasn't happy about wedding of Somerhalder, 36, to Reed, 26.

"When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful. They look happy, and I am happy, and so I don't see why there should be a problem with that," she revealed. "The drama is in the media, it's not with us. But, of course, we're on a teen drama show, everyone's going to look for drama. If there's no drama, there's nothing to write about. I just ignore it."

Nina has filmed her last scene for the show and she recalled that their last on-screen scene was absolutely touching. 

"My last scene was with Ian Somerhalder, and we were shooting a scene I can't talk about outside that was very beautiful," Dobrev told The Hollywood Reporter.

When asked if she'd watch the show's next season, Nina said it'll definitely be easier to follow. "I think it'll be easier to watch, now that I'm not on it. I hate watching myself," she said.

Nina and Ian ended their nearly four-year relationship during the Spring of 2013. After dating for nine months, Ian wed the "Twilight" actress in April. 

According to ET Online, Reed and Somerhalder tied the knot in Santa Monica, Calif. on April 26. The wedding is a first for Somerhalder, but marks the second walk down the aisle for Reed who filed for divorce from American Idol alum Paul McDonald back in May.
