Young Thug and Jerrika Karlae Relationship News: Rapper Making an Album About Fiancée, Jerrika Speaks on His Beef with The Game [Watch]
Days after his Internet threats to The Game, Young Thug and his fiancée, Jerrika Karlae, sat down with VladTV to talk about how they met and his beef with Game.
"We met in Gucci's studio," Young Thug explained. "That's the first time we ever met. She turned me down. She was like 'No.' I guess I was too street or something."
They met in Miami the second time. Karlae was with her boyfriend.
"You know, the little ball player guy and his little friends," the "Stoner" rapper told VladTV. "They built and stuff. I was like 'Hey what you doing?' She was like 'I'm with my boyfriend.' I was like 'What? Hate you.'"
Karlae, a swimsuit designer, said that she liked Thug at the time, but she was already in a relationship. The "Throw Sum Mo" rapper wasn't giving up on winning her heart. The two eventually started dating in late summer 2014.
Eight months later, on April 16, Thug proposed to Karlae on Instagram by posting a photo of two rings and the message "Will You????"
"I was like, 'Jeff I got a cute picture I want you to post of us on Instagram,'" Karlae said. "Then he was like 'You ain't see I put something up for you?' And I went on there and it was both of the rings."
The couple is planning their wedding, but they have not yet set a date. Although they have a big budget for the ceremony and reception, Karlae said they're opting for a small and intimate wedding.
Thugger also revealed he's writing an entire album about his wife-to-be.
Later in the interview, Karlae shed light on how Thug's beef with The Game came about. She and Thug woke up last week to what they expected to be a "regular day" when they were bombarded with phone calls informing them that "the Game was on the Internet talking crazy." Game took up for Lil Wayne in his beef with Thug on social media.
Karlae believes Lil Wayne and her fiancée can handle their own problems. She doesn't feel that "he is wrong for defending himself," because one can only take so much.
"I don't think it's Young Thug [you have] to worry about -- it's these other artists that keep coming at him," Karlae said.
The "Lifestyle" rapper posted a video apology to squash the feud.
"Black lives matter so I salute Game. I respect him, and I'm sorry for making that post about him. Even though he was wrong, and he was in the wrong business and taking up for a n---- that wasn't taking up for himself, it's all good," Thug says in the video.
The Game accepted the apology.
