With a few months left until the release of "Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens," rumors of Daniel Craig being in the film are surfacing.

The rumors have begun after Simon Pegg stated that Craig would be a stormtrooper. During a press conference for his latest film "Man Up," the actor said, "I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper." He added, "I shouldn't have said that."

Pegg has been rumored for "The Force Awakens" after visiting the set but has denied any participation in the film numerous times.

Craig was rumored early on but was never confirmed. The actor has been very busy with "Spectre" throughout the past months, which seems like any possible cameo is unlikely. However, according to an insider, "Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role -- and was happy to have his name left off the posters. Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him." It is unknown whether this statement is true and if the actor will indeed make a cameo.

"The Force Awakens" is set to show footage at the upcoming D23 conference and it is likely more details about the plot, casting and film will be revealed.

Pegg is set to be seen in the upcoming "Mission: Impossible" film and will also be in the upcoming "Star Trek 3."

Craig is best known for his work as James Bond in "Quantum of Solace," "Casino Royale" and "Skyfall." He has also been seen in "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" and "Munich."

"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" is set to star Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. The film was directed by J.J. Abrams and is set to be released on Dec. 18, 2015.
