Sofia Vergara's Ex-Fiancé Nick Loeb Claims 'Modern Family' Star Physically, Mentally Abused Him
Sofia Vergara's ex-fiancé claims she physically and emotionally abused him throughout their nearly four-year union.
As part of their brewing legal battle over frozen embryos, Radar reports Nick Loeb also claims in 2014 court documents that in one instance the "Modern Family" star "began vigorously berating" him after he questioned her signing of a document outlining that the embryos be thawed should one of them die.
Loeb is now suing Vergara to retrieve the embryos, use a surrogate to deliver them and raise the children on his own.
The website adds the documents illustrate an alleged pattern of abuse on the part of Vergara. On at least four different occasions, she is accused of physical abuse, with two of those episodes ending with her having punched Loeb in the face, kicked him and threw her phone at his head.
When she wasn't getting physical, Loeb claims Vergara regularly heaped loads of verbal abuse on him, typically castigating him as a "loser, worthless and other degrading names."
Radar adds a source close to the couple disputes many of Loeb's accusations telling the website, "Sofia never got physical with Nick, it just didn't happen. ... Did they fight? Yes, and a lot, which is why they broke up. But to portray it as Sofia being mentally abusive towards Nick is reckless, and just not true."
The 42-year-old Vergara is now engaged to Joe Manganello and seemingly taking every opportunity to publicize it to the world. According to Us Weekly, she recently walked the red carpet at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards hand and hand with the "Magic Mike" star.
"[I'm] very happy," she said of her upcoming nuptials. "Very happy, very excited. I cannot believe it.
The magazine adds Vergara and the 38-year-old Manganello began dating after she and Loeb bitterly ended their engagement.
