New Year's Eve Celebrations and Performances: Demi Lovato to Play at Niagara Falls
Looking for something to do in the Niagara Falls area on New Year's Eve? Why not spend it with Demi Lovato?!
According to MTV.com, the temperature in Canada will be a rockin' 18 degrees... and Demi showed her support for our friends in the Great White North by wearing what she called "37 layers of clothes" on her Instagram. Lovato will be headlining the New Year's Eve bash at Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls tonight.
The "Neon Lights" singer took to Instagram to shed some light on her cold-weather look, captioning: "Don't let all these warm layers fool you..... Underneath it all, I still got my birthday suit on...#ETcanadaNYE."
Demi also broke down her exact layering scheme on Twitter, adding: "Thick tights + leggings + thick jeans + thick socks + uggs + tank top + long sleeve thermal + long sleeve turtleneck + coat + scarf + hat + gloves = #ETcanadaNYE."
According to the Niagara Falls Review, though, Lovato's performance isn't the only thing to look forward to at tonight's festival. A safe guess of 20,000 people are expected to pack Queen Victoria Park on New Year's Eve for the annual free outdoor concert, but the added star power of this year's lineup have some officials estimating 30,000 or even 40,000 showing up.
Sam Roberts, Serena Ryder and headliner Demi Lovato are scheduled to perform, starting at 8 p.m., which is when the Niagara Parkway and most of Murray Hill becomes a massive logjam.
"I would recommend not parking too close to the event," said Brian Ash, a casino district staff sergeant with the Niagara Regional Police. "The challenge for us is safety and traffic issues, with having so many pedestrians."
Murray Hill is expected to be closed early in the evening, while the Niagara Parkway from Clifton Hill to Table Rock will be closed as the crowd swells, likely just before show time.
