What started out as an epic Stephen King novel has morphed into a small screen hit for CBS. The first two seasons have been heralded as the No. 1 show for summer, and on June 25 at 9 p.m., the show returns for Season 3.

In Season 3, the first episode, titled "Ready When You Are," picks up with new and returning characters, according to a promotional video on Spoilers Guide.

You can forget whatever you think you might know, or whatever you think you've figured out. King is the master of twists and this episode is full of them. Based on the preview, some make it out of the dome. But another scene shows us that everything that has been going on in the town under the dome, may not be real at all.

Marg Helgenberger will be guest-starring in this episode and things get a little surreal.

According to TVLine, devoted fans of the show have experienced a little frustration toward the show's vague tendency to answer questions that still don't make any sense. This is much in the same way that fans of the ABC series "Lost" felt when they found polar bears on their tropical island.

Producers for the show spoke at a CBS press conference and have promised that they will be answering some of the shows biggest questions this season.

"We will tell you why the dome came down and what it's about," Executive Producer Neal Baer said at the summer press event on Monday. "By the end of the season, you'll know exactly why this happened the way that it happened."

Executive Producer Tim Schlattmann also weighed in at the conference and spoke directly about some of the plot twists revealed last year.

"Why was there 25 years to pass before the dome came down? What was in play 25 years ago that set all this in motion? That's one of the biggies we're going to address," Schlattmann said. "You'll see how these puzzle pieces form a puzzle that may be different from what you thought it would be."
