According the Disney ABC Press, "Modern Family" is all new Wednesday night at 9 p.m. with the Season 6 finale on ABC.

Episode 24 of Season 6 is titled "American Skyper" and will go down with all that class-act comedy that has been so inherent of the series from the start.

This season ends with Alex Dunphy's (Ariel Winter) big day.

Her graduation is imminent and she is valedictorian. All her hard work and years of self-restraint as the nerdy middle-child in the family has paid off, and now, grandpa Jay and step-grandma Sofia are hosting a graduation party for her.

But the only drawback is her Dad, Phil Dunphy, will be unable to attend. Phil had traveled for business and he is stuck in Seattle due to an unexpected delay. But that is not enough to stop this proud father from being there for his daughter's big celebration. He has devised an ingenious plan to not only Skype in for the party, but to also make use of modern technology utilizing a robotic vessel to fill in for him.

The episode is all about the party, which has brought the family together. But it would not be a family get-together without the clichés of inner bickering. Jay finds the constant presence of Gloria's cousin to be a little inhibiting, revealing that he has already overstayed his welcome.

Claire is also in distress because she wants to get Alex the perfect gift for her graduation. This becomes her obvious flaw, given that she sees the ability to achieve perfection in everything, at least in the moment.

Mitch has been laid-off from his job. But he doesn't necessarily run home to tell Cam. Keeping the news from him may turn out to be a big mistake, but such is the nature of family and relationships.

Haley is tense due to Andy's girlfriend being in town. The situation may also help her to achieve a realization that she previously lacked and may have desperately needed, albeit to late.

Winter has been quite a mainstay in the news lately, given that she recently won an emancipation victory in court from her estranged mother and revealed at the TV Academy screening of the "Modern Family" finale episode that she has plans to attend law school, according to E! News.

"I toured around schools in California and I'm going to take a tour of East Coast schools," Winter said at the event.

She also squashed rumors that she may be departing her career as an actress.

"I would love to continue acting but it's definitely important, I think, to go and do something else as well," Winter said. "You never know if something's not going to work out, if one day acting is like, 'No, we don't like you anymore!' You gotta have something else you can do. I've always been interested in law so I think it'll definitely be something that I'll love to do and also go to school for."
