This season on "Supernatural," Dean and Sam's journey took tumultuous turns as the brother duo has fought within themselves.

In Episode 23 of the Season 10 finale, which airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. on The CW, viewers will be brought one step closer to another unimaginable ending that, as always, could have serious repercussions that may or may not lead to one of their deaths. Just like with Bobby, the series is known to pick off main characters, although Bobby still keeps on showing up.

Dean acquired the Mark of Cain last season as a way to stop the Knight of Hell. He can slay her with this mark and the knife, but having that power also had its price, as we've witnessed first-hand throughout the season.

According to International Business Times, Sam is busy in this episode trying to find a way to save his brother. But Dean has other plans and he's ready to check out. We get to see the return of "Death" himself (Julian Richings) in this episode.

Just like when "Death" was called upon to put the wall up in Sam's brain after his soul was dragged out of hell, he can also help Dean with whatever conclusion he wishes. But Death always has a price to paid, sort of a quid pro quo, so to speak.

To further complicate the loaded situation, Dean still blames Sam for Charlie's death, killing everyone associated with her assassins. Although this is seen as revenge for the loss of his love, we discover that the Mark of Cain drives Dean with the need to spill blood.

Dean even seeks the help of Crowley, who is still reeling from Sam's sneak attack championed by his own mother. We will likely see Castiel get between the "Crowley and his mother" situation.

In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Jeremy Carver fielded a few questions about how Season 10 will end, particular in regards to Dean becoming an even darker soul than he has already become.

"That's one of the central questions of the finale," Carver teased to TV Line. "I wouldn't want to ruin anything by saying any more than that."

He also revealed that Death will remove the Mark of Cain for "a fairly sizable, non-negotiable condition," which can mean just about anything in the "Supernatural" universe.
