The previous title, "Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Budden" was a Japan-exclusive release.
For the meantime, a Japanese demo has been made available for players, said Attack of the Fanboy. Those who download the demo and save its data to the official game would be able to unlock the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku, which is his latest and most powerful form to date in the animated movie "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F."
There are other names included in the upcoming game, but only as "assist characters", and would not be playable. Among those included are Tien, Chaotzu and Yamcha.
Jaco and Gine would be accessible as Z-assist characters to gamers once they purchase the official game guide created for the new title.
"Dragon Ball Super" Becomes a Manga
Meanwhile, V-Jump magazine also reported that the new "Dragon Ball Super" animated TV series is on its way to become a full-fledged manga. Artist Toyotaro, who also drew "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'", will sketch the upcoming companion manga to the TV show.
V-Jump magazine would launch the new manga series on its August issue.
"Dragon Ball Super" is the first new TV series from the Dragon Ball franchise after 18 years. The first series, "Dragon Ball GT," was shown in 1996 until 1997, and since then, no other Dragon Ball TV series has come up.
"Dragon Ball Super" will air every Sunday in Japan, beginning in July.
