NFL Top 100 Players Rankings 2015 List: 80-71 Revealed
Each and every week, NFL Network will be releasing 10 more players in order until we find out who is the best player in the league. Today, we reveal the players who ranked 80-71.
This week's edition has five offensive players and five defensive players. Let's take a look.
80. Arian Foster
Such a gifted running back. Arian Foster is a complete player who doesn't have a weakness when it comes to his game. He had a tremendous bounce back season last year coming back from an injury in 2013. Foster ran for 1,246 yards last season and eight touchdowns despite not having a reliable quarterback. It should also be mentioned that Foster has just two total fumbles over the last two seasons.
79. Marshal Yanda
Drafted in 2007, Marshal Yanda has played his whole career for the Baltimore Ravens. Yanda has blocked for quarterback Joe Flacco, who was listed No. 97. Yanda has missed just two games since 2008, and he is an adaptable player who can both guard and tackle.
78. Ryan Kerrigan
The Washington Redskins don't have a lot to be proud of right now. However, they do have a great, young, energetic linebacker. Ryan Kerrigan has record 38 sacks in his four year career, and he makes big tackles. Unfortunately, he is battling a knee injury right now.
77. Matt Ryan
The Atlanta Falcons starting quarterback comes in at No. 77 on our list. A bit high? Probably not. Ryan is about 10th overall when it comes to best quarterbacks in the league, so this ranking seems appropriate. Ryan rarely makes big mistakes and he's an accurate passer, but he's not the most clutch quarterback and lacks mobile skills.
76. Sen'Derrick Marks
The Jacksonville Jaguars haven't made the playoffs since 2007, but they do have a great a great defensive tackle in Sen'Derrick Marks. Marks is the first Jaguar to make the Top 100 NFL list in five years. Marks isn't the greatest pass rusher, but he demands double teams at the line of scrimmage because he's comparable to Vince Wilfork with his run blocking skills.
75. Mike Evans
Mike Evans was just a rookie last season. So what? He played like a veteran, finishing the season with 1,051 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The No. 7 overall draft pick has a very bright future ahead of him, especially with Jameis Winston coming to town this season.
74. Muhammad Wilkerson
Muhammad Wilkerson was a terrific draft selection from 2011. Each and every season he has improved his on-field production. Wilkerson hasn't missed a single game for the New York Jets, and he has increased his sacks every year. With Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie providing secondary help, this Jets defense could finally return to an elite level.
73. Cam Newton
Another NFC South quarterback. This should get Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons fans going at it. Thanks to Cam Newton, the Panthers have won the division the last two seasons, the only team ever to do so. Newton is still just 26 years old, and he's progressing more and more as pocket passing quarterback.
72. Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams is an underrated defensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills who has made four of the last five Pro Bowls. Williams can get to the quarterback, but his specialty is stopping the run and plugging up holes at the line of scrimmage. Paired with Mario Williams, the Bills defense is becoming elite.
71. Julius Peppers
What a great signing Julius Peppers turned out to be for the Green Bay Packers. Many NFL experts thought Peppers' career was done after three seasons with the Chicago bears, but Peppers proved those doubters wrong. Peppers hasn't missed a single game since 2007, and he can thrive playing both defensive end and linebacker.
