Radamel Falcao will leave Manchester United after his one-year loan from Monaco ends. Manchester United decided not to renew the loan or sign him to a permanent deal Sunday, according to ESPN FC.

Falcao joined Manchester United on the final day of the summer transfer window. It was a £6 million deal that gave the team an option to purchase him for £43 million more.

However, the Colombian striker did not really meet expectations during his loan, only scoring four goals in 29 games with Manchester United. In his last 13 appearances, he did not score at all.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal did not want to address Falcao's departure right away after his team tied Hull 0-0.

"I don't say if Falcao will go today. Today is about the game and not the decisions we have made. You will hear it at the proper time and when Manchester United want," van Gaal said.

More players could also leave Manchester United in the near future, including Anders Lindegaard, Jonny Evans, Rafael, Angel di Maria, Adnan Januzaj, Robin van Persie, Nani and Javier Hernandez.

Van Gaal hopes to form the roster in a way that he likes by removing some players and adding some new ones as well, but he might not get the exact roster he wants.

"The transfer period is a process. I know which players have to go and which have to come but you never know if they go or if they come because it will depend on a lot of aspects,'' he said.

Falcao was thankful for his time at Manchester United.

On Instagram, he thanked his fans and followers for all of their support.
