Emojis Update: More Emojis Coming in 2016, Including Bacon, Selfie & Dancing Man
The dancing man will get his chance to appear as an emoji in 2016, matching his dancing woman.
Joining the dancing man will be 37 more emojis to be released in June 2016, according to Yahoo Tech.
The Unicode Consortium is responsible for standardizing the emojis across all the different operating systems. Among the new icons coming next year are a "call me" hand, champagne flutes, a wilted flower, bacon and a symbol for a selfie.
Members voted on the 38 emojis and submitted them for approval. If everything goes smoothly, these will be added to the existing list.
Just a month ago, more emojis were added which included more racially diverse skin tones and more objects, such as a taco. Several different skin tones can be selected when a face emoji is picked.
Apple and Microsoft have already added the emojis to their operating systems, but the Unicode Consortium will fully finish its update next month.
When the update is fully complete, other major tech companies are expected to adopt the new emojis to their operating systems.
