'Avengers 2' Release Date, Cast & News Update: Robert Downey Jr. Wants Mel Gibson in Marvel Movie; Studio Says No!
The most recent Avengers 2 reports interestingly tackles Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. trying to get some his friends in the industry to become a part of the upcoming movie.
A source mentioned by Radar Online reports that he wants to get Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson on board. HNGN.com wrote that Downey is all set and signed to making two Avengers movies and even more sequels for the Iron Man film franchise. However, the idea of bringing some of his friend actor friends for the movie has certainly made some raise their eyebrows.
Many were saying that it was also due to his help that Gwyneth Paltrow landed an Avengers role along with Ashley Hamilton and even director Shane Black. Added sources mentioned that the problem may come with adding Mel Gibson to the cast.
Everyone is aware of how the actor has faced several controversies which can be the hindrance of him being cast for the movie. Some rumors even state that Downey tried placing Gibson for the US President role for Iron Man 3.
Mel Gibson has been known not just for his award winning accolades but also for his various issues including his DUI arrest in 2006. The arrest report stated that the actor allegedly shouted phrases that dismayed the Jews which went exactly like: 'F**ing Jews... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world."
Robert Downey had his own downs when it comes to issues of substance abuse in the past. When he was awarded his lifetime achievement award during the American Cinematique Awards three years ago, the Iron Man actor selected his friend and Braveheart actor, Mel Gibson, to introduce and present the award.
Screen Rant reports that the script for The Avengers: Age of Ultron is already finished and it includes Jeremy Renner coming back to play the role of Clint Barton as Hawkeye.
