ABC 'The Bachelorette' Season 11 Spoilers & Cast News 2015: Amy Schumer Rocks Show, Twitter Fans Rally for her Return
There was plenty to take in during last night's episode of "The Bachelorette" Season 11.
There was a boxing match was spearheaded by fighter Layla Ali (the famous daughter of the legendary Muhammad Ali) as well as a possible concussion, underwater photography and the jealous, machismo awkwardness during the cocktail party. However, the stand-up comedy amateur hour hosted by comedian Amy Schumer was really what stole the night.
"Bachelorette" Kaitlyn Bristowe had already endured seeing the hunky contestants battle it out, cringing at the thought that someone might get hurt -- and one did. But it was the stand-up portion where Bristowe felt more at ease laughing (at times uncomfortably -- and rightfully so!) at the guys who were trying to make the audience laugh.
But it was the "Inside Amy Schumer" and "Trainwreck" star who brought JJ, a currently unemployed single father, back down to earth after he said he felt "too smart" for 90 percent of the audience at the comedy club where he thought he was more than ready to take the stage.
Schumer, with a glass of white wine in hand, "assured him he wasn't" and said she thinks JJ is "a sweetheart," except for the fact that he's "just missing, like, charisma and humility and sense of humor."
According to E! Online, Schumer then went on to say, "Maybe when he sees the show he'll reflect on himself and not be such a turd."
After a viewer tweeted JJ saying he should add being called "a turd" by Schumer to his bio, JJ did just that. "'Amy Schumer called me a turd,' his bio now reads."
Bottom line: It was Schumer and not JJ that was a hit, so much so that there's a campaign to have ABC either keep Schumer on staff as a running commentator, or just have her become the next Bachelorette.
After all, comedians need love too! (Not to mention new material!)
