"Switched at Birth,” the highly praised ABC Family series that focuses on two teenage girls who were – as the title says – switched at birth, is coming back soon for the rest of Season 4.

Lizzy Weiss, the executive producer and creator of the drama, which is notable for being the first mainstream television series to spotlight a plethora of deaf and hard-of-hearing regulars, has confirmed via Twitter that the groundbreaking show will be back in August.

"The news is out. #SwitchedatBirth IS BACK AUGUST 24. Mark ya calendars! And the premiere is AWESOME. Trust me," she tweeted.

Weiss also showed a picture of a script, which she said was for a special episode.

The program has been especially celebrated for often having scenes shot entirely in American Sign Language.

As with all good family dramas, the show offers plenty of emotional back and forth.

Season 4 ended with a breakup between Emmet (Sean Lance Berdy) and Bay (Vanessa Nicole Marano), as well as Daphne (Katie Lynn Leclerc) dealing with the fact that she got a D in chemistry. When Mingo (Adam Hagenbuch) gave her a pep talk, the two ended up sharing a kiss.

Although it seems to be a natural thing for fans of any series to want the people on screen to actually hook up in real life, don’t expect that anytime soon from 22-year-old Marano.

In a podcast interview with HollywoodLife, Marano explained that dating actors was not for her.

“That’s a rule that I set up for myself! It’s the worst," she said. "Two things my mother said to me that just grilled into me: don’t do drugs and never date an actor or an athlete.”

Marano says that “most actors are crazy,” plus the hours get in the way of a regular relationship.

“I work every Friday night. It’s been nicknamed ‘Friday Night Pizza with Vanessa.’ I’m dating our camera department, basically,” she said.

E! News reports that there will be an unplanned pregnancy once the show returns.

"We hear that the ABC Family show is about to tackle pregnancy in a way that's going to have fans talking. You thought the rape storyline was powerful? You haven't seen anything yet," the site reports.

"Switched at Birth" will air on Aug. 24 on ABC Family.
