James Rodriguez Instagram: Soccer Star Takes Daughter to Daycare, Thanks Former Real Madrid Manager Carlo Ancelotti [Pic]
Real Madrid soccer star James Rodriguez showed off his fatherly side when he took his daughter to school.
Rodriguez posted the moment to his Instagram page.
"With my little princess [on our way] to daycare," he said.
Rodriguez's daughter, Salomem is turning two on Friday. He and his wife, Daniela Ospina, had her when Rodriguez was just 21 years old.
Rodriguez was one of the first Real Madrid players to thank manager Carlo Ancelotti this week after he was fired by the club Monday. Real Madrid players, including Rodriguez, were upset by the move and expressed their feelings on Twitter about Ancelotti.
Rodriguez says he appreciated what Rodriguez taught him during his two seasons with the club, Goal.com reports.
"Thank you for everything boss, I quickly learned a lot from you," Rodriguez posted to Twitter.
Before coming to Real Madrid, Rodriguez said he always wanted to play for the team. During a post-match interview at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Rodriguez said it would be "a life's dream" to play for Real Madrid. Not long thereafter, his dream would come true.
Rodriguez joined Real Madrid from Monaco in 2014 for a transfer fee of 80 million euros in July 2014, making him one of the most expensive players in soccer. The deal keeps Rodriguez with the team for a total of six seasons, the team reported.
Rodriguez's career was interrupted by a broken foot this February, ESPN FC reports. He made a rather quick recovery and returned to play April 5 where he assisted on two of Real Madrid's nine goals in a 9-1 victory over Granada CF.
