iPad 2 Jailbreak iOS 7: Why People Say The Evad3rs Jailbreak Is Best On Newer Devices
The iOS 7 jailbreak download may be better suited for the newest and most recent devices.
The Evad3rs released the new jailbreak just a couple days before Christmas, but the initial launch was a bit bumpy thanks to issues with the Chinese App Store, Taig, as well as other technical problems. However, things are on the upswing now and it appears that the jailbreak is safe for most people to use.
However, Tech website Cult of Mac said that the jailbreak "is finally worth installing on newer iPhones and iPads," a statement that leads us to believe that the tech world is still a bit weary and not completely ready to send the green light for the older iOS devices.
Some of the most recent updates to the jailbreak, according to Cult of Mac, include improvements to the Mobile Substrate, allowing the Cydia tweaks to work. Cydia has been surrounded by controversy after Saurik became embroiled in a bit of a feud with the Evad3rs upon the launch of the jailbreak.
In a letter, the Evad3rs elaborated upon the issues that caused problems in the early release as well as their disagreement with Saurik, which partly had to do with the fact that Saurik was apparently working to release a jailbreak ahead of the Evad3rs.
"Many of you have also wondered why this jailbreak was released without Cydia and MobileSubstrate being updated for iOS 7. After we received the offer from Taig, we informed Saurik, our friend, of our decision to accept the offer. SaurikIT had been in talks with Chinese companies regarding potential partnerships, made a counteroffer. We believe they share our views on how a relationship with companies in China currently utilizing jailbreaking might benefit everyone in the community. Unfortunately, the negotiations did not work out. A few days later, we received information that SaurikIT was working with another group to release a jailbreak ahead of us. We decided to release, knowing that Cydia, MobileSubstrate, and jailbreak tweaks would be updated after a few days, just as it always has in the course of jailbreaking."
