Powerball Numbers & Results May 30, 2015: Watch Live Stream Of Drawing For $171 Million Jackpot
Saturday’s Powerball is here. And since no one won the grand prize last Wednesday (when the winning numbers were 8, 15, 34, 53, 59, and 23) all that money has once again rolled over and is now at $171 million, with a cash value of $107.1 million.
There were 516,978 regular Powerball winners and $6,111,228 in non jackpot money was won.
There are actually nine ways to win at Powerball. Players have a 1 in 175,223,510.00 chance of the Grand Prize, and a 1 in 5,153,632.65 of winning $1,000,000.
So the chances of winning the big money are small but people actually win.
In Florida a fellow named Louis Reyes, a resident of Largo, just won $2 million in the Powerball drawing for May 20.
As reported Tampa Bay Sarasota’s 10 News, the 60-year-old Reyes won with a quick pick he had purchased at the Publix supermarket store. Reyes had matched up all five of the white ball numbers but missed the Powerball. Because he had added a Power Play to his ticket for just a buck, he was able to make his prize go from $1 million to $2 million.
Powerball is of course all about luck, but you do have to watch the drawing and sort of know what is happening with your ticket as well.
As reported in the Seattle Times, $1 million Powerball ticket went unnoticed by a Seattle couple for three months before they even realized it was worth anything.
Lucky for them the ticket went unnoticed by a thief as well. A few weeks before finding out they were loaded, someone had broken into their car and stolen a pair of sunglasses, which happened to be sitting right on top of the winning ticket.
The couple, who plan on now taking trips to Iceland and Paris, realized they were millionaires on May 14.
Be sure to check here for local stations broadcasting the Powerball drawing.
