With Samsung's hint that 2014 may be the launch for the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2, it could just mean that it believes a lot on the power of their smartwatch to become a huge hit this New Year.

It was Samsung Mobile UK who made the interesting tweet that was accompanied with an image of the Galaxy Gear. Tech Shout reports that the actual image tweeted showed the caption "What Next?" and the year "2014."

The first generation of the Samsung Galaxy Gear was first launched during the IFA 2013 in September, as recalled by DNA India. It certainly took a most of everyone's attention and even became one of the biggest highlights of 2013's tech world. Hence, the recent Twitter post that showed the old Galaxy Gear smartwatch with the 2013 label with a blank image for the caption of 2014 is an effective way of teasing everyone that the Korean tech is cooking up the next generation of the smartwatch.

Launch details remained unconfirmed but if one would follow the company's trend, the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 can be most likely to be introduced in February during the MWC 2014, possibly along the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S5. However, the twitter message which said "What do you want Samsung to unveil in 2014?" is the one thing that can puzzle the minds of most fans.

The Samsung Galaxy Gear launched in 2013 comes with a camera, a microphone and even a speaker to do calls straight from the user's wrist. Its major drawbacks discovered by users include not allowing the user to view their email messages, even though if they are alerted if there are new ones.

The website Android Authority once mentioned in an article published December of last year that Samsung is getting ready for the release of two wearable gadgets in time for the Mobile World Congress which includes the Galaxy Gear 2 and the Galaxy Band.

So if the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 is really on its way, what new features are you expecting to see?
