Fifty Shades of Grey Movie Cast, News, and Update: Will the Trilogy Be Told In Just One Movie? Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed Movies
Fifty Shades of Grey fans got a scare this week when reports claimed that the book and its sequels, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed would all be condensed into one film. The rumors have since been clarified.
SPOILER ALERT!
The news started when reports came that in February, Fifty Shades of Grey production will head to Canary Islands' Tenerife to shoot Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele's (Dakota Johnson) honeymoon scenes.
Efe then reported that all three stories in E.L. James's trilogy would be told in one movie, citing "a recent statement" from "the production company."
Next, gossip site Perez Hilton exacerbated the rumor by pointing out that Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele do not get married until Fifty Shades Freed, sending various other gossip sites into a frenzy.
Luckily for readers who want to see Christian Grey on a high-definition cinema screen over and over again, the reports seem to be untrue.
toofab reportedly contacted Universal who the website said "confirmed ... that the report is indeed false."
Meanwhile, HollywoodLife.com was directed to a tweet that James wrote back in June 2013.
"three books. Three films. :)," James said via Twitter in response to a fan asking if the upcoming movie would be based on all three books.
If we follow the model for other book series that have been adapted into films, it is most likely that the futures of Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed depends on the first movie.
Fifty Shades of Grey has been filming in Vancouver, Canada since September. Recently, it was reported that bad weather interrupted the movie's production, forcing the crew to re-locate. Although Vancouver may have been director Sam Taylor-Johnson's preferred location, Miami is also notorious for bringing the naughty out of naïve college students like Johnson's Anastasia Steele.
"The downtown Miami skyline looks a lot like downtown Vancouver," production company representatives told Efe.
