Google has recently announced the development of Android M at the I/O conference. The upcoming OS update will be the latest offering from the tech giant to bring new features for its user's enjoyment. 

While the upcoming operating system will be a smaller update than the previous Android Lollipop, Google announced further features that will improve functionality and target security for the devices.

The upcoming Android M will soon have a feature much like the keychain in Apple's iOS and OS X. Called the "Smart Locked Passwords," it will allow the log in details you entered on your Chrome and Google Apps to be read in other Android devices, reported Android Police.

As the feature is still in development, only a few applications will be able to access it but Google is already working on expanding the list of apps for the functionality.

Google is also finally addressing the concern of expandable storage with its Android M update. With the array of phones coming out in the market with huge storage space, it is still possible for some users to feel limited and lacking in space.

Devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are the latest to join the non-expandable storage space revolution. But Google found a way around that problem by coming up with a technology that will allow the OS to utilize an SD card, noted  Sam Mobile.

The expandable memory card will be treated like an additional internal storage by the device and users can store apps on it to save space on the actual memory area of the mobile phone.

With this new feature, low-end Android phones with limited storage space can soon find a way to expand its memory to add more applications and files on it.

Meanwhile, the tech giant might also bring back a "multi-window" feature that was initially seen in the Samsung Galaxy Note II. According to another report by Sam Mobile, the feature was not officially announced in the I/O conference but keen-eyed observers saw a preview of the build on its Nexus devices.

While the preview is on an experimental stage, adding a multi-window feature will do well for users who have taken the use of their mobile phones into actual replacements for their laptops and tablets.

It remains to be seen if the "multi-window" feature will actually be included in Android M once it comes out later in 2015.
