The upcoming NBC mini-season of "Heroes Reborn" is starting take shape with more and more people signing on to the cast.

The story is being kept mostly a secret right now, but there will be a few actors returning from the original series. Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura), Jimmy Jean-Louis (the Haitian), Jack Coleman (Noah Bennett) and Greg Grunberg (Matt Parker) will all make a return.

Deadline reports that "Covert Affairs" actress Nazneen Contractor has joined the cast as a recurring character. She will be joining the new set of characters played by Zachary Levi, Gatlin Green and Ryan Guzman, as the series will take a new direction in the reboot.

Series creator Tim Kring said that the series will be primarily focusing on these new characters and their abilities within the fictional universe that he previously created for NBC back in 2006.

Contractor will be playing the role of Farah whose powers are unknown at this point, but she is very tough. Her mysterious character has a military style persona that plays out as stoic and resourceful.

This new batch of people being introduced will play out much like it did in the original series premier.

They are presented as just regular everyday people and their extraordinary abilities will give rise to the drama. In the original series, they mostly kept their powers secret from others.

With the character of Noah Bennett returning, viewers might wonder if he is going to revert to his original role of a government-style enforcer for people with incredible, super-human abilities.

Deadline also reports that Sendhil Ramamurthy will also be returning to the cast in a guest starring capacity. Ramamurthy played Dr. Mohinder Suresh, a geneticist who tried to find the truth behind his father's murder and a researcher into "evolved humans."
