Ever since Microsoft announced the development of the Windows 10, PC users have been eager to see what's next for the operating system.

Now, the tech firm behind one of the iconic operating systems ever made has offered more details about it that will surely make current and non-Windows users excited.

Microsoft notified through its blog the different features one will see in the upcoming OS. Among the things the new Windows 10 will bring is a new look that aims to make navigation and use of the system better.

Windows 10 will usher in a new digital assistant, Cortana, to help users in their usage of the system. Similar to Apple's Siri, the digital secretary takes things up a notch with studying user's preferences to provide recommendations on apps, information and other reminders. This system will not only be limited to the PC but will also be accessible through any Windows smartphone. Android and iOS devices will be able to use Cortana through a downloadable companion-app.

For gamers, the news that an integrated Xbox App and Xbox Live will arrive to the new OS is a welcome addition. Users will have the chance to play video games and connect to friends easily with this new feature.

The new Game DVR will also allow users who enjoy sharing their video gameplays to "capture, edit and share gaming moments." Meanwhile, game streaming will be available on the Xbox App for those who prefer to play on their PCs and handheld devices.

The new OS will also usher in Windows Continuum that will allow devices such as smartphones and tablets using Windows 10 to be transformed into a PC for a seamless transition of work.

With Windows 10 comes a new browser called the Microsoft Edge that is linked to Cortana for better search results. A personalized greeting will welcome any user with the new Windows Hello feature.

PCs that upgrade to the new OS will finally see the last of the Windows Media Center and the favorite desktop game, Hearts, reported The Verge.

Those who are currently on Windows 7 and 8.1 will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free up until a year after it gets released. The new Windows OS can be purchased for $119 for the consumer edition and $199 for the professional version, said Tech Crunch.

The new OS will arrive on July 29 for PC and tablets.
