"Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin had the rumor mill working overtime with engagement rumors when she was spotted over the weekend wearing a huge diamond ring on her left-hand finger while attending the TLC Summer Block Party in Philadelphia, reports E! News. The sparkling bling captured the attention of fans, causing speculation that the mother of eight was newly engaged.

As quick as the engagement rumors surfaced, the 40-year-old reality TV star took to Twitter on Monday to confront theories about her love life.

"Fyi: I'm not engaged-not even dating any1.Loved the ring so I put it on myself 4 my bday-Had 2have something abt that # to make me smile #40," she tweeted.

Not only did Gosselin put an end to the marriage proposal rumors; her tweet also hint that she is not ready to publicly recognize the millionaire co-founder of Dreamstime, Jeff Prescott, as her boyfriend. The pair has reportedly known each other for about a year. They have been on a few dates and were spotted together a couple of weeks ago.

Gosselin and Prescott enjoyed a romantic date in mid-May at Talula's Garden in Philadelphia, according to E! News. The alleged couple shared a kiss while together.

Considering accusations that Prescott is a neglectful father, it is probably best that the pair is not engaged. As Latin Post previously reported, the 51-year-old father of three has been accused by his ex-wife of neglecting his children.

Prescott's former wife, Michelle Jones, alleges his neglect of their three children happened during the peak of their bitter 2006 divorce.

Jones filed court documents in Massachusetts claiming the Dreamstime co-founder had "infrequent" visits with their three children: Ashley, 19, Brooke, 14, and Connor, 10.

Gosselin has also been accused of not properly caring for her children since late last year. On April 23, Gosselin's 11-year-old daughter Hannah stayed with her father, Jon Gosselin, for four days refusing to go home with Kate because of alleged cruelty.
