"Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes announced on Twitter Tuesday that publishing house giant Simon & Schuster will publish her memoir "Year of Yes."

"So happy, proud and terrified to say YES to @simonschuster!" Rhimes tweeted.

Simon & Schuster also released a statement on Tuesday confirming that it will publish the "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal" showrunner's first book. The publishing house has the book scheduled for release November 2015.

The book is a memoir detailing a challenge Rhimes' sister gave her in December 2013: Say yes to the invitations that came her way. It is also an advice book.

Rhimes, an admitted introvert, opens up in the book about the powerful impact saying yes had on every aspect of her life. According to Simon & Schuster, Rhimes believes everyone can change their life for the better with one little word: Yes.

"Saying yes for an entire year turned out to be one of the most amazing decisions I have ever made," the "Scandal" showrunner said. "It was also a little insane, a lot terrifying and sometimes wildly embarrassing. So this is not a story I ever planned to share with anyone. However, once Simon & Schuster asked me, I had no choice -- what else could I say but yes?"

In the statement, the publisher imagines the book "inspiring a movement."

"It's mind-boggling that the mega-talented Shonda Rhimes, one of the most admired and accomplished women in Hollywood, would feel the need to challenge her status quo. But by saying yes for a year, she truly transformed her life for the better in every way," Simon & Schuster Vice President and Editor-in-Chief Marysue Rucci explained.

Rucci described the book as "surprising, hilarious and poignant," and added, "We couldn't be more excited to publish it."

In addition to creating "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal," Rhimes is an executive producer of "How to Get Away with Murder." Currently, she is developing a show for FX based on Isabel Wilkerson's 2010 book "The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration."
