“Empire,” which has been described by NPR as “'Dynasty' by way of Jay-Z and Beyonce,” was perhaps the non-cable TV phenomena of 2015.

The second season of the Terrence Howard-starring Fox drama is gearing up for its premiere this fall, and, as detailed by CarterMatt, Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson), who had it pretty rough at the end of Season 1, might be getting several lovers to choose from.

As her husband Lucious has been dragged off and locked away for Bunkie’s (Antoine McKay) murder, the much put-upon Queen of the Empire music scene may be taking comfort in the arms of a dude named Laz Delgado (Adam Rodriguez).

Rodriguez (of “The Night Shift” and “CSI: Miami” fame) will be playing a smooth-talking music promoter from New York who, in the course of the season, develops a close bond with Cookie.

Known for playing the Latino stud in films like “Magic Mike” and “Lovesick,” the 40-year-old actor is no stranger to working the visual sides of the music industry, as he has been in videos for Jennifer Lopez, Busta Rhymes, and Lionel Richie.

When asked by Glamour Magazine back in 2014 to choose which one of the artists he had worked for to be the singer at his wedding, the actor emphatically said: “Lionel Richie!”

Although he admitted that Lopez would be great, Rodriquez seemed to have a whole night planed out for Richie, saying: “He just has so many songs, and he’s the nicest guy ever.

"My wedding song would be 'Endless Love' with him and Diana Ross. And then we play 'All Night Long' and 'Dancing on the Ceiling' at the party!” he said.

Season 2 of “Empire” will air Sept. 23 at 9/8c on Fox.
