Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Revealed in New Video
The mobile community has been abuzz in recent days with the announcement of the Android M OS update. But many gadgets have yet to receive the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update, including Samsung's flagship devices - the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
A recent video was recently released that captures and highlights the exciting features and look of the new OS to the latest Samsung phone.
Some reports have claimed that the latest version of the Android Lollipop OS will be available to Samsung's latest mobile phones in June or July. While users of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge await its arrival, the people at SamMobile have come up with a video, which aims to show details about the OS to owners of the devices.
The device's camera is one of the features expected to get a huge upgrade with the arrival of manual adjustment on its settings. Once the user opens the app from the gadget, simply tapping a point of focus to show a light bulb icon will change the exposure.
For people who prefer to access their apps and folders in a quicker manner, there will also be a new "A-Z" setting that will immediately organize all these apps in an alphabetical order. The folders will be prioritized on top for a quicker search.
However, this method of organizing the contents of the gadget could be counterproductive for people whose priority app starts with the letter "Z." SamMobile recommended placing it on the home screen instead as there is currently no way to revert back the "A-Z" option.
The "Quick Connect" and "S Finder" feature can also be disabled and removed from the notifications window in the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade.
Minor changes can be seen in the wallpaper setting as well. Users can now enable or disable the motion background feature for a different look while the theme button at the bottom of the screen will be changed into a bright purple hue.
While all these changes are sure to excite S6 and S6 Edge users when it arrives, SamMobile was quick to clarify that the video was created using test builds. As such, there might be some changes to what they have shown and other new features can be included as well.
Samsung or Google has yet to announce an exact date when Android Lollipop 5.1.1 will arrive. It is expected that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will follow suit and receive the update after the S6 and S6 Edge.
