“Graceland,” the USA Network's “Miami Vice”-like show about a group of undercover agents living together in a Southern California beach house, will come back for Season 3 this summer.

Season 2 ended with Mike (Aaron Tveit) in a hospital bed and looking as though he probably died.

It might be a terrible shock to consider that Mike is gone, but according to Jeff Eastin, the 48-year-old creator of the unconventional police drama, that is very likely the case.

“He looks pretty dead to me," Eastin said in an interview with TV Guide. "I'm not supposed to say officially yes or no, but I'll just say he looks pretty dead to me.”

And if Mike is dead that frees up a lot of new action for the other characters, especially for senior FBI agent Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata).

When deciding what worked and what did not work on the show, Eastin said that the writers realized one character needed more screentime.

“One thing that we realized was Briggs' character had taken a bit of a backseat early on in the season and we want to bring Briggs really back to the forefront," he said.

The soul of the series seems to be based around how the guys relax in the beach house, so that is where the focus of the next season will be.

“The idea is that 'Graceland' is a sanctuary,” said Eastin, who emphasizes that a great deal of Season 3 will be all about “trying to restore order out of the chaos that we've created and, of course, that will not run smooth at all.”

If fans are worried about what may become of Aaron Tveit if his character is truly dead, they may take comfort in what the 31-year-old actor said about his future plans in a 2014 Harper’s Bazaar interview. When asked what he would do when "Graceland" was over for him, he said, “I'm dying to get back on stage in New York, either with a play or a musical.”

Season 3 of "Graceland" airs on the USA Network on June 25.
