In the 20th draw since the last time a player had taken home the lottery's big prize, a new soon-to-be millionaire finally cracked the Mega Millions jackpot on Tuesday, The Associated Press noted.

The lucky participant, who purchased his ticket at a grocery store in the Chicago suburb of Blue Island, Illinois, can now claim $260 million -- or $158 million if he or she opts for an immediate payout; there is no hurry, though, as winners have an entire year to claim their prizes, the AP added.

The winning numbers in the June 2 drawing, meanwhile, were 2, 9, 11, 22 and 23; the Mega Ball number was 12; and the Megaplier number was 4, according to the game's official website.

Tuesday's news means that tonight's Mega Millions jackpot is back down to a sizeable $15 million. If someone takes home that prize tonight, he or she will have the choice between an immediate payout of a lump sum of $9 million or having the total handed over in annual installments over a 29-year period.

Before you agonize over that decision, however, you might want to consider that the odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 259 million; hitting the jackpot is a true feat, though the odds of winning any prize are much better at about 1 in 15.

Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday, and the draw entry closes at 10:45 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets to the game are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands - a total of 45 jurisdictions.

If the "humble" jackpot has not scared you off -- and you have bought a ticket in hopes of converting yourself into a millionaire tonight -- then tune in at 11 p.m. Eastern Time; that is when the current drawing will take place at the studios of WSB-TV, Atlanta's ABC affiliate.
