Chinx Drugz Death: Pregnant Former Girlfriend Patricija Muratovic Says She’s not the Rapper’s ‘Side Chick,’ Speaks on His Wife Janelli Caceres
Patricija Muratovic, the pregnant ex-girlfriend of Lionel "Chinx" Pickens, has been called his "side chick" by many, and she wants to clear the air about her relationship with the late rapper, Bossip reports.
After Chinx Drugz, 31, was shot and killed on May 17 while driving his Porsche in Queens, New York, the media turned its attention to the women in his life -- one of which was Muratovic.
In an exclusive interview with Bossip, Muratovic confirmed that she is expecting Chinx's son and is devastated by the tragic loss of her former boyfriend. She also wants to end rumors that she was the late rapper's "side chick."
"I understand how it seems, because of the timing in how people learned about me and Chinx and our relationship. But please remember that the way people are hearing about this all now, is not how life happens. I met and loved Chinx and was with him without ever knowing about any other women in his life," Muratovic said.
Muratovic revealed that she has met Janelli Caceres, Chinx's wife, while she and the rapper were broken up. She said that they got to know each other and are on good terms.
"Chinx and I separated. During our separation I spoke many times with Janelli and I've come to know her to be an amazing woman," she said.
The "Weed & Drinks" rap star's death has placed an unwanted spotlight on Muratovic who is mourning the man she loved and preparing to give birth to his child in mid-July.
"I loved Lionel. I would much rather that all of this be over. I'm still dealing with the fact that he's gone. I don't know how to deal with the rest of it," she said.
Muratovic was adamant that she doesn't care what other people think of her, but she wanted to set the record straight.
"It doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks of me or what I had or didn't have with Chinx," she told Bossip. "What matters is that the focus be on the future. On remembering who Chinx was as an artist, as a father, as a man. I will find my peace at the end of this, I know. I pray all who knew and loved Chinx do as well."
It may not matter to Muratovic what people think, but it certainly matters to the "Dope House" rapper's grieving widow who was devastated by a MediaTakeOut.com report 24 hours after his death that mentioned not her but Malika Haqq as Chinx's significant other. Caceres immediately created a change.org petition in which she wrote, "He wasn't no fckn Malik's boyfriend he was my husband of 13yrs!!! They need to take this s**t down."
It did not help matters that Haqq posted a photo of her with Chinx and loving goodbye message to him on her Instagram account, according to Bossip. The post has since been removed.
Caceres has said publicly that Chinx and Haqq were "together" for the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" spin-off "Dash Dolls," and the relationship was not real. Yet many fans sent Haqq condolences following his death.
Caceres and Chinx grew up together in Far Rockaway. The couple was married for eight years. They shared two daughters, 14 and 11, and a 4-year-old son. Despite rumors of their separation, she and Chinx were living together in the family home on the night of his murder.
Bossip also reports the rapper was allegedly romantically involved with several women, including novelist Larrima Davis, a stripper named "5 Star Jazzi," and Muratovic.
