The CBS science fiction nighttime soap “Under the Dome” is coming back for its third season in June.

Based on a novel by living horror writing legend Stephen King, the series tracks the lives of a town full of people who have suddenly found themselves cut off from the rest of the world by an invisible barrier -- kind of what happened to the characters in the "Simpsons Movie," which King swears he had not been aware of at the time of writing.

The character of Dale “Barbie” Barbara (Mike Vogel) has been through a lot in the first two seasons. The former U.S. Special Forces operator, who has been trying to keep a sense of order in the capped over town, became the target of a manhunt due to a series of murders that he did not commit, and now it looks like he is going to be a daddy too.

Natalie Abrams of Entertainment Weekly reports executive producers on the show have contacted her with information about Season 3.

“Fatherhood may be in the cards for Barbie this season, but who is the mother of his child isn’t who you might expect," the producers said.

As with all King projects, the source of the real entertainment comes from the human relations squirming about beneath the horrors and not just from the horrors themselves.

With that in mind it should come as no surprise that the master of the macabre has a deep poetry-reading side to him. In a recent a recent New York Times interview Kings said that he loves the verse of Anne Sexton, Richard Wilbur, the narrative poetry of Stephen Dobyns, and the work of W. B. Yeats.
