Diplo Claims Selena Gomez’s Relationship With Zedd is Fake
During a recent interview with Radio, DJ Diplo attempted to clarify the Twitter diss he published about DJ Zedd's latest album "True Colors," MTV reports.
E! News reports that on Friday, June 5, Diplo tweeted, "True Colors is such a pile of [poop]." Instead of writing the word poop, Diplo included the poop emoji.
His tweet has since been deleted.
When Radio asked why Diplo dissed Zedd, he responded that he's "actually not enemies with Zedd by any means."
Diplo then went on to say that he feels Zedd can do better with his music; however, his label is more focused on making him mainstream and keeping him in the tabloids by creating a fake" relationship with Selena Gomez.
"I just think that he came from such a cool place, and now he's been pegged as a money-maker for a major label to do EDM, which to me isn't even a genre," Diplo said. "But they pegged him for that. They've marketed him, even the fake relationship with Selena Gomez, all the things to sell records took away from the music."
Despite not being a fan of Zedd's current music, Diplo acknowledged Zedd's potential and urged Zedd to use his publicity to create better music.
"He's an amazing producer and good songwriter," Diplo continued. "He's got a really loud space right now in this culture, there are a lot of people paying attention to him, he can do this awesome music, and to just come out with something so flat and expected and easy for people. ... You only live once, you know what I'm saying?"
So far, neither Zedd or Gomez has responded to Diplo's claims that their relationship is fake.
E! News reports that Diplo previously slammed Taylor Swift for having no "booty." He urged his twitter fans to create a Kickstarter to get Swift a bigger backside.
