Season 5 of “Falling Skies," the Steven Spielberg produced post-apocalyptic sci-fi series, is set to resume this June on TNT.

Tom (Noah Wyle) was sent off into orbit at the end of the last season, and it was not really made clear what would become of him.

Now details about the first five episodes of Season 5 have just emerged. As reported by Spoiler TV, in the first episode of Season 5, titled “Find Your Warrior,” Tom’s very life will be at stake as his beamer drifts along into space. But, he will for sure make it to the fifth episode, “Non-Essential Personnel,” where he will be on a rescue mission to save Hal (Drew Roy).

This will be the final season of "Falling Skies," and actor Wyle, who has had a very hands-on approach to the way things have been wrapping up on the show, is hopeful that the farewell will be “a satisfying one.”

Speaking to TVLine, Wyle says: “It’s so rare that you get to script your own ending,” adding that the involvement allowed the the actors and writers to really explain how this whole thing started.

“We tried to answer all the questions, to unravel all the mythology, and make it as satisfying an ending for the audience as it was for [the cast] to get our own sense of closure,” said the 44-year-old actor who is best known for his work as Dr. John Carter on “ER.”

The veteran actor alluded to an unnerving series finale, when he said of the ending: “Not everybody makes it to the finish line.”

The final season of “Falling Skies” airs Sunday, June 28 on TNT.
