Floyd Mayweather Jr. is being linked to a fight against Amir Khan again, but former world champion Prince Naseem Hamed thinks the reigning pound-for-pound king is ducking the Bolton, England native.

Khan told ESPN U.K. he thinks Khan deserves a fight against Mayweather after the former world champion won in his last five fights, including his victory against Chris Algieri last month in Brooklyn.

Hamed also believes Khan, who holds a 31-3 record with 19 knockout victories, has the tools to put Mayweather into trouble. He cited Khan's hand speed and he believes Mayweather is aware of it, which is the reason why he is dodging a fight against the Briton.

"I think Amir might give Mayweather a harder fight than his last 10 opponents because he's got fast hands and I would love Amir to win that fight," Hamed said. "I think he's got a good chance and I think Floyd knows he's got a chance and that's why he's been avoiding it."

Hamed is also convinced Mayweather is not the same fighter he was before. Based on his performance against Marcos Maidana last year, Hamed says age is catching up with the unbeaten world champion.

Khan also faced Maidana before and scored a unanimous decision win. Hamed said Khan performed better than Mayweather in their fights against the Argentine slugger.

"Floyd is older and you could see with what he's getting hit with in the fight with Marcos Maidana that he's getting older and believe me Amir is faster and better than Maidana," Hamed said. "Amir did a better job on Maidana than Floyd did."

While he thinks Mayweather is a good matchup for Khan, Hamed said that he wants to see the 28-year-old collide with fellow Briton Kell Brook, who is the reigning International Boxing Federation welterweight champion.

Instead of waiting for Mayweather to decide on whether or not to give Khan a shot in September, Hamed said that Khan should agree to face Brook at the Wembley Stadium in London.

"I want to see Amir fight Kell Brook and I want to see the big British blockbuster at Wembley," Hamed said. "I don't see why Amir is overlooking Kell. You have a world champion on your doorstep with a legitimate world championship."

Brook holds an impressive 35-0 record with 24 knockout victories. The 29-year-old old Yorkshire native is coming off a sixth-round knockout win against Frankie Gavin on May 30 at the O2 Arena in London.
