After a very shocking Episode 9 in Season 5, there may be more jaw-dropping action on the next episode, "Mother's Mercy."

"Stannis marches. Dany is surrounded by strangers. Cersei seeks forgiveness. Jon is challenged," the show's description on IMDb reads.

The teaser video once again shows Cersei imprisoned. But unlike many other times, her spirit seems to be broken. Previously, she was asked to confess her sins, and she would instead yell at whoever came to her cell.

For Stannis, who has sacrificed his daughter, it appears things are working. Melissandre tells him that the Lord of Light has "made good" on his promise.

It was a shocking, but somewhat expected, moment when Stannis decided to sacrifice Shireen, but fans were still surprised, CarterMatt reports. And it may get worse when Davos Seaworth finds out that Shireen's father gave her up in Episode 9.

The New York Times reports that Davos will find out about Shireen's horrible fate in the season finale.

Actor Liam Cunningham vaguely talked to NYT about the situation. He could not spoil the show too much but he did indicate that it was nearly impossible for Davos to save Shireen before her father decided to give her up.

"[Davos'] loyalty and decency gets him in trouble again. He wanted to take the queen and the princess away because a battle was about to ensue. So he is quite confused about it. Stannis is getting him out of the way because he knows he's about to do the wrong thing," Cunningham said.

"He doesn't want to be looking in Davos's eyes when he tries to do it, because he won't be able to go through with it. I do not find out what actually happens to Shireen until the final episode," he added.
