Dr. Strange Movie Cast, News, and Rumors: Marvel Eyeing Johnny Depp for Lead Role
Ohh, Marvel, ohh Johnny. Latino Review has announced that Johnny Depp might be the next addition to the Marvel films as Dr. Strange The timeless heartthrob and Marvel have sat together in a meeting to discuss the Dr. Strange role, a source tells Latino Review.
Johnny Depp is a comic book fan and we are Johnny Depp fans, so this combination seems to be perfect. Johnny, who has a great relationship with Disney (Marvel's owner) after making them billions with Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice in Wonderland, is a top choice for the character in the Marvel world. Disney is even willing to "shift" the upcoming Pirates film production around if Johnny does agree to sign the contract with Marvel.
After announcing on Monday that Michael Douglas was casted as Hank Pym in Ant-Man, the superhero film machine is feeling lucky with the A-Listers. However, Dr. Strange will not be appearing on The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel's next big production. Latino Review claims that the soonest we will see Mr. Depp (assuming he takes the role) will be in those after the credits scenes that only true fans know to stick around for.
We are hoping that everything works out and that we get to see Johnny Depp take over the Mr. Strange roll. The character itself makes a lot of sense for Depp. Dr. Strange is a powerful magician and Johnny is known to be able to play any character with undeniable ease and grace. Don't worry Mr. Depp, we totally forgot about that whole Lone Ranger thing, plus the flop of the film had nothing to do with you, you still did an exceptional job (can you tell I'm a Johnny Depp fan?).
Let's keep our fingers crossed on this one as more updates arise. The Dr. Strange film is aimed to be released in the year 2016. We hope that Depp holds on until then, as all we know right now is that Marvel and Johnny had a meeting. Calm your anxieties by gearing up for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is to be released in 2015.
