Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Review: Next Samsung Smartphone Could Feature USB-C Port in Exchange of Something Else
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected later this year and it could be getting a USB-C port, but it will probably lack one major feature, according to TechRadar.
The Note 5 could get a USB-C port, which would make charging faster and improve transfer speed when moving files on and off the smartphone.
The Note 5 has been rumored to receive an ultra-sharp 4K display. However, according to reports from GforGames, Samsung has scrapped that plan and will likely include a 2K display instead.
The size of the screen on the Note 5 is expected to be quite large, at about 5.89 inches.
With a bigger screen, the Note 5 will also get a bigger battery -- 4,100 mAh, according to Android Authority. Even with a big battery, the Note 5 will still be just 7.9 mm thick. It is still unknown if the battery will be removable. The Galaxy S6's battery is not.
Just like previous Note devices, the Note 5 will come with the S-Pen stylus to allow on screen writing and drawing.
Rumors from the same source also point to the Note 5 supporting UFS 2.0 Flash memory, much like the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Supporting this type of memory would speed up the internal storage and allow apps to be installed and loaded faster.
Last year, Samsung announced two separate Note models, the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge. This year, they are deciding to announce just one, the Galaxy Note 5. This could lead to a slightly curved screen on the new phone.
The processor to power the Note 5 will likely be Samsung's latest Exynos processor. Recently, Samsung has gone away from Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and started designing its own.
The Note 5 is expected to be introduced this fall at the IFA Consumer Electronics Unlimited show in Berlin.
