'Five Nights at Freddy's 4' New Teaser Image Confirms Prequel Story; Is Nightmare Freddy the Hidden Animatronic?
"Five Nights at Freddy's" video game developer Scott Cawthon published a new teaser image to his website this week that confirms the series' final installment will feature a prequel story. The image also shows that the nightmare animatronics will be included.
We see evidence of "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" being a prequel from the barely visible text in the image's right hand corner, which reads "property of Fr-er." The writing has substantial spacing in between the letters. While the entire phrase is at present unknown, rumors have it the statement reads "property of Fredbear's Family Diner."
In the "Five Nights at Freddy's" game series, Fredbear's Family Diner is the first restaurant opened by the restaurant chain, Fazbear Entertainment. Gamers got a glimpse of the establishment in the "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" death mini-games. Fans learned that the first of many child murders occurred at the location, which laid the groundwork for the "Five Nights at Freddy's" storyline.
In the image's foreground, fans can see Freddy's trademark top hat and bow tie. At first look, the image appears benign, but it is what cannot be seen immediately that makes this teaser image truly terrifying: a hidden animatronic. The face of a previously teased nightmare animatronic is reflected in the floor. The animatronic's eyes and nose can barely be seen, but its set of razor-sharp teeth is unmistakable.
Freddy's hat and tie featured in the image seems to be a strong indication that the character could be Nightmare Freddy.
Like the previous nightmare teasers, this image file is saved as "4.JPG," leaving no doubt to its "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" reference.
The only thing missing from this teaser that the previous images had is the "FNAF4" release date of Oct. 31.
Do you agree that this new teaser image indicates FNAF4 will feature prequel story content? Which animatronic do you think is hidden in the image's corner? Share your thoughts and theories in the comment section below.
