iPhone 6 Release Date, Features & Specs: TSMC to Produce Smartphone's Fingerprint Scanners; Will Start in Q2
The freshest iPhone 6 reports suggest that the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company or the TSMC has just signed a contract with the tech giant to be in charge of the production of its Touch ID sensors.
According to DigiTimes, the chip fabricator will start its production by the second quarter of 2014. This just leads to the assumption that Apple may not launch the device by May unless it will have its fingerprint scanning feature for the phablet done by someone else. The report further states that TSMC will deal with it in in-house status to make sure that all the requirements of the Apple company will surely be met.
It can be recalled that it was TSMC too who produced the Touch ID sensors used for the iPhone 5s which came out last year, BGR wrote.
On other iPhone 6 rumors, Tech Radar recently wrote about the speculations of a possible iPhone 6 made with Liquidmetal Technologies. The company actually signed an agreement with Apple way back in 2010. If this ends up true, then it can mean more strength and higher level of resistance for the hardware of the upcoming Apple flagship phone.
So far there are top five iPhone 6 features that are slightly confirmed as gathered by IBTimes AU. They are as follows:
1. The TouchID fingerprint sensor
2. A screen size that measures 4.5 inches and 5 inches
3. A much better display panel in Retina class
4. An 8MP rear camera
5. The iOS 8 in complete 64-bit environment
As the website mentioned, it is all through the help of the consistent flow of leaks and rumors that revolve online along with several projections from various analysts and patents published. For now, it may still take months before fans of the upcoming iPhone 6 can get their hands on the next Apple flagship phone.
