It's fair to say that Alicia Florrick has gone through a fair share of hardship on "The Good Wife."

From dealing with an unfaithful husband, to an huge fallout with her best friend and then going through a tiresome State Attorney election only to have her victory snatched from under her feet. As a result, actress Julianna Margulies says it may be time for her character to see a shrink.

In the cover story of this latest edition of The EDIT magazine, Margulies opened up about her role on the show and her opinion of Alicia.

"Women love Alicia," said the leading actress. "She was an underdog, she was in a sink-or-swim situation, and she swam. People love a flawed character they can relate to."

Although Alicia is a very strong and competent career woman, Margulies confessed the politician's wife could use some help.

"Oh, she's messed up! I tell the writers, 'Seriously, she needs to be in therapy. She hasn't gotten laid for a year and a half, the situation with her husband is so complicated, her children are leaving the nest, she has her own business and she's completely overwhelmed,'" she said.

"And the writers are always like, 'Well, she'll work it out!'" Margulies added. "To be honest, when would she have the time to see a shrink anyway?"

Last season, viewers said goodbye to Kalinda Sharma in the Season 6 finale of "The Good Wife." However, unlike the buildup that led to Kalinda's departure, it was less apparent that Matthew Goode's character was also leaving the show. In the finale Finn backed out of plans to partner up with Alicia to start a new law firm. According to TVLine, it turns out that Finn will no longer play a series regular.

The show is scheduled to return to CBS on Oct. 4.
