There have been a lot of times in the past where rockers have rocked the stage with full commitment to their performance. But when Dave Grohl fell of the stage Friday in Gothenburg, Sweden and broke his leg, he gave new meaning to "dedicated."

The Foo-Fighters frontman returned an hour after his fall and finished the concert in a chair -- his broken leg bandaged, according to BBC News.

The incident happened when the band was only two songs into their set. Grohl was playing the song "Monkey Wrench" when he got a little too excited during the chorus and maneuvered to the edge of the stage, where he then lost his balance and fell off.

Grohl handled the situation with humble humility, speaking to the audience and mocking his own situation as he laid on the ground getting medical attention from responding EMTs. While still on the ground, Grohl told his worried fans that he was going to the hospital to get it taken care of, and also promised he would be back.

He delivered on that promise and as he walked, assisted by medical personnel, on crutches back onto the stage. Delighted fans sung one of the band's flagship songs, "My Hero," while he made his way to the microphone.

Grohl would later chime in on the experience with a Tweet that showed an X-ray of his broken leg, writing, "Thank you Gothenburg. That was amazing."

The BBC reports that the band has other tour dates in Europe schedule, with locations like Wembley Stadium in London and the Glastonbury Festival on June 26. Wembley released a statement on their website that addressed the situation.

"We are aware of the incident last night involving Dave Grohl and are in contact with the event organisers, who at this stage have no further information," the statement read. "As soon as we have news from the artiste this will be made public."
