Xbox One game developers and employees at Xbox One briefed a large crowd at the Electronic Entertainment Expo Monday on upcoming titles, news and more.

The event kicked off shortly after 12:30 p.m. EDT.

One of the biggest things to come out of the conference was about Gears of War. Along with announcing that "Gears of War Ultimate" -- an updated version of the original game -- would be payable this week as a preview, it was also announced that "Gears of War 4" is in the works. The first game to be previewed was "Halo 5." The game will have a new multiplayer mode called Warzone that will support up to 24 players at once on maps that are four times larger than previous Halo maps.

At 12:42 p.m., a new Xbox One exclusive game was previewed. It will be called "Recore," and it will feature a girl and her robotic dog battling evil robots in a post-apocalyptic world.

A big announcement that made the crowd go wild at 12:47 p.m. was that Xbox One will be able to play Xbox 360 games. The company called this backward compatibility, and users will be able to play their Xbox 360 games on Xbox One for free. Xbox studio manager Mike Ybarra said that games can also be played on Windows 10. Ybarra said that backward compatiblity is coming "this holiday."

A new controller called the Wireless Elite was announced at 12:50 p.m. The controller will feature trigger locks, remappable buttons and a swappable D-pad. It will also work with Windows 10.

Game developer Bethesda showed a demo of "Fallout 4" at 12:53 p.m. This game is highly anticipated and will be released Nov. 10.

Peter Moore from EA came out at 12:58 p.m. He discussed EA's subscription service EA Access. Moore said members of EA Access will be able to play "Madden NFL 16" Aug. 20, a full five days ahead of the game's release date of Aug. 25.

At 1 p.m., Moore said that the entire EA Access Vault is open to all Xbox Live members for free this week.

At 1:01 p.m., the game "Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2" was announced. This is a sequel to the game that was a big hit on mobile devices. The game will be released next spring.

At 1:05 p.m., Henry Ford III was introduced to help announce "Forza 6," which will have more than 450 cars in the game and is coming Sept. 16.

At 1:10 p.m., a new Tom Clancy game was previewed. This game will be called "Tom Clancy's The Division." An Xbox-exclusive beta for "The Division" will debut this December.

At 1:22 p.m., a new game called "Beyond Eyes" was previewed. This game involves a blind girl trying to use her other senses to navigate through a colorful world she cannot see.

At 1:26 p.m., an exciting new feature called Xbox Game Preview will allow free trials of all games before gamers buy them.

At 1:29 a new "Tomb Raider" game was previewed. The game will be called "Rise of the Tomb Raider" and the graphics look excellent. "Rise of the Tomb Raider" is coming Nov. 10.

A compilation of Rare games including "Battletoads," "Perfect Dark" and "Conker's Bad Fur Day" was announced at 1:37 p.m. This compliation of games will be called Rare Replay and it will include 30 titles.

Rare then announced an exclusive to Xbox One. It is a pirate-themed multiplayer game called "Sea of Thieves."

At 1:46 p.m. a brand new version of "Minecraft" built just for the Hololens was shown off. This will be a whole new way of playing Minecraft with virtual reality.

Xbox One has a ton of things to look forward to. The virtual reality version of "Minecraft" received a tremondous applause and the audience was excited for the new "Tomb Raider" too.
